Ifa Fachir
Rifat Fachir is a name that should not be forgotten in the beautiful journey of the group MALIQ & D'Essentials.
Rif'at Syauqi Rahman Fachir (born October 21, 1983), known professionally as Ifa Fachir is a musician and keyboardist who formed and has played in the band MALIQ & D'Essentials.
As a musician he has been pursuing music education for a long time. Starting in 1995, she attended music school in New York, United States. Broadway musicals had a huge influence in shaping his characteristics in music and songwriting.
In America, he was also active in the Forest Hills High School Jazz Band, which was the Big Band of the high school where he studied, as the beginning of his music composition experience.
Upon her return to the country in 1999, Ifa continued her musical education at the Farabi Music Education Institute, Institut Musik Daya, and even had the chance to study directly with Indra Lesmana.
In 2002, he began his professional music career as a keyboardist for the band MALIQ & D'Essentials. With MALIQ & D'Essentials, he played on songs from their first three albums, 1st, Free Your Mind and The Beginning of A Beautiful Life until 2011, when he left the band.
Ifa's playing can be seen in the composition of MALIQ & D'Essentials' songs at that time, which were strong in funk, soul, R&B and Electronic funk.
Since 2011, Ifa has collaborated with many musicians both on stage and in the recording studio. Many musicians of national and international caliber have worked with her, including Erwin Gutawa & Gita Gutawa, Andien, Hedi Yunus, Purwacaraka, Dian Pramana Putra, Dira Sugandi, Sandy Sondhoro and others.
Aside from being a musician, Ifa is also trusted as a composer and music director, one of the works she produced was the Musical Drama Bawang Merah Bawang Putih in 2012.
In 2016, Ifa was appointed as the program coordinator for Java Jazz Festival - one of the biggest international jazz festivals held in Jakarta.
To this day, Ifa remains active in the Indonesian music industry as a songwriter, music director and music producer.
